| Adventures on Rutabaga Island |
| Before you start with the story, you should carefully read this premise. These adventures take place in the second half of the 1800s on a fictional archipelago in the south east asian seas called The Rutabagas. Rutabaga Island is an isle, about the size of Borneo in the shape of a parsnip. To it´s territory belongs a vast group of small islands, spread around the mainland. Most of them are uninhabited, some are the last retreat of the native Rutabagians. But it´s not just a fictional island, it´s a fictional world! So the Confederate States of America are about to win the Civil War with the help of Mexico (for the prize of half of Texas) and France. The far west (Oregon, California and British Columbia) is merged into a British Dominion called Columbia. In Europe the Hanse never seized to exist and is one of the most important trade organisations; the German Empire was founded directly after the successfull revolutions in 1848 tries since then - with a litlle help from the Hanse - to get some colonies. The Germans allied with the Union and both bought a piece of Rutabaga´s main island and founded a joint settlement, called Port Rutabaga. While the Germans merely use it as a supply station for their navy, the US are about to colonize the land in a far bigger extend to get more resources for the war on the brink of a loss! But there are others, who are interested in control over Rutabaga: the Brits, who want the Archipelago for it´s strategic importance, the French, to erradicate any German imperialism, the Dutch for it´s riches, the Sultan of Rutabaga, because he realised it may have been a mistake to give away the control and a ruthless gang of pirates, for their own sake!
